I think sometimes the awkwardness is th...I dunno... I think sometimes the awkwardness is there because we aren't confident. Or maybe because the person you are on a date with is socially awkward (don't tell me that's never happened!). Or maybe because we have too many expectations for a first date (it is just a date after all and can mean absolutely nothing and that's ok). It could be a safety net I suppose but obviously it isn't supposed to be there when you are dating someone. So maybe its more of a speed bump.<BR/>Personal note: I don't remember any awkwardness when Steve and I had our first date.
